We had impeccable service in the Market Cafe (buffet) for breakfast and lunch, from all staff who we experienced. The property was extremely well kept, with the beach even being cleaned up from driftwood on day 5 for us. The thing that made this trip unforgettable.was the people. We visited for 7 days, 6 nights in September for a family wedding. Walk over each day and have the same experiences we did. If you still want to go here, just save some money and stay at NOW. The bar over there is great! Benny is the best bartender, and Nirvana was exceptionally nice. It's a shame, too - the place is nice, food is totally decent (except for Market Cafe's breakfast) and not to mention the amazing Preferred Club. These are reasons we go to adults-only resorts, and I'm disappointed that AMResorts didn't brand the whole complex as a NOW so travelers like us could just avoid it. We couldn't use an elevator because of all the baby strollers lined up to use it. There was a 12 year old running around unsupervised asking people at our table if he could please drink some of our "adult juice". We had a dinner ruined by a shreaking infant that was too hot and too tired to be up so late, but the parents didn't care and zoned him out. Here are some of the highlights from our "adults-only" vacation: - We tried to enjoy a drink and the sunset at Rendezvous, but a toddler was having an incredibly-long screaming hissy fit just a few feet away. Besides - the two lobbies are so close to each other you can easily hear screaming children in the NOW side. We also saw children in the Secrets lobby (just a small "adults only" sign on the wall that they walk past). I know what you're thinking.we wouldn't have had this problem if we just stayed at Secrets.but we went to a comedy show that was in the Secrets side, and it was full of kids. Call me snooty, call me a prude - but when I've paid for an adults-only resort, I expect it to be just that. Also, guests that are staying at NOW (who have presumably paid less) just walk on over to Secrets, sometimes with kids in tow. Secrets Vallarta will be happy to brag on their adults-only policy, but what they don't tell you is that most of the restaurants and almost all of the nightly entertainment takes place on the NOW side. I knew that going in, and I figured the two properties were separated enough so that it didn't matter. This resort was the first one we've stayed at where there was a family-friendly hotel right next door. We have stayed in Secrets before, and we have come to appreciate the adults-only aspect of the chain. We tried to enjoy a drink and the sunset at Rendezvous, but.
